Mediation is now accepted in the main stream of dispute resolution. It is used very often in family matters with referrals coming from all sources, solicitors, judges and other professionals, not least  the clients themselves. This method of dispute  resolution has the following main advantages over court based judgements:-

1.    You retain control of your outcome (what you want  to achieve) with help from the Mediator.

2.    It is much cheaper than paying for lawyers.

3.    Speed - It is not infrequent to achieve a satisfactory outcome for all issues, children and financial, in 3 -4 meetings of approximately one to one and half hours each.

4.    Because you discuss with your partner the difficult issues you each face , this leads to a better understanding of each other's perspective, is less acrimonious and less confrontational, all leading to a better future working relationship for you and especially the children.
