Administration of Estates (Probate)

Dealing with a deceased's person's affairs can be a stressful and difficult undertaking. It may also take a long time - months or even years in very complex cases.  We can provide sympathetic and easy to understand advice about whether or not probate is required, who is entitled to apply, and the correct procedure.

If you have been appointed an Executor of a Will it is critical that you understand all of the Executor's duties and responsibilities, and how you could become personally liable for any errors made.  It is therefore often advisable to appoint a solicitor to deal with the estate - particularly if the closest living relative is not familiar with dealing with complex financial matters such as Inheritance Tax.

If someone has died without leaving a valid Will, this creates an intestacy.  Dealing with these estates can be more complicated and can present a number of potential pitfalls for the person responsible for sorting out the affairs of the deceased. It is important that the deceased's money and property are dealt with according to the intestacy law, otherwise the person dealing with the estate can find themselves rectifying any errors out of their own pocket.

We are able to support you by handling all of the administrative, financial and legal responsibilities on your behalf.
